Hubballi, February 28, 2026: The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking ceremony for the 23rd batch of G.N.M. and Basic B.Sc. Nursing students of K.L.E. Society’s Institute of Nursing Sciences, Hubballi was held at the KLE Bio-Tech Auditorium, BVB Campus. The event marked a symbolic beginning of the students’ journey into the noble profession of nursing.

Dignitaries Inspire Students

The ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mrs. Jyothi Patil, Hon’ble Mayor of Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, along with Guests of Honor Mr. Madivalappa Nagarahalli, Secretary of KSDNEB, Bengaluru, and Dr. M B Tadalagi, Member of the Karnataka State Nursing Council. The function was presided over by Dr. Sanjay M. Peerapur, Principal of the Institute, who welcomed the dignitaries.

Mrs. Patil congratulated the students for choosing nursing, calling it a profession that “renders the precious gift of life.” She encouraged them to work hard, use resources wisely, and embrace artificial intelligence in education. She urged students to make their parents, teachers, and institution proud.

Messages of Motivation

Mr. Nagarahalli praised the discipline of the program and emphasized the four C’s of nursing—compassion, commitment, coordination, and communication. He reminded students that “where there is will, there is a way.”

Dr. Tadalagi inspired students with the example of a honeybee, advising them to gather knowledge and goodness from everywhere. He highlighted KLE’s reputation for quality education, discipline, and punctuality, urging students to develop strong communication and clinical skills.

Florence Nightingale Pledge

Professor Dr. Asha Bhatakhande led the Florence Nightingale Pledge, which the students recited, committing themselves to the values of the nursing profession. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Professor Manjunath G S and was compered by Ms. Evangeline Kunder.

The ceremony reinforced the importance of nursing as a noble profession and celebrated the new batch of students stepping into their roles as future healthcare providers in Belgaum-Hubballi.
