KLE College of Physiotherapy in Hubballi transformed the campus atmosphere today by hosting a high-impact workshop titled “Together We Rise” to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026.
We saw the college’s Women’s Cell taking a proactive approach to safety by moving beyond traditional celebrations and focusing on life-saving physical skills. Over 30 women faculty members, including both teaching and non-teaching staff, gathered to exchange their stethoscopes for self-defence training. March 17, 2026.
Guest speaker Shahin Mokashi, a well-known journalist and motivational speaker, led the intense session with a focus on building immediate confidence. Our sources confirmed that the training covered critical communication techniques and physical self-defence maneuvers designed specifically for women in professional environments. Pure strength. The participants engaged in practical drills that demonstrated how to use their voice and body language to deter potential threats during their daily commute. Absolute grit.
Vice Principal Dr. Veena Bembalgi attended the event and spoke about the necessity of mental and physical preparedness for women in the medical field. We talked to several professors who noted that the “Together We Rise” theme perfectly captured the spirit of mutual support and collective growth within the institution.
Real empowerment. The program coordination was managed by Dr. Pooja Motar Sublok and Dr. Monika Gawas, who ensured that the curriculum addressed the unique safety challenges faced by working women in Hubballi. Total teamwork.
Recent studies suggest that 80% of workplace harassment incidents can be mitigated through early verbal boundary setting and assertive communication. One specific number to note: 30 female faculty members successfully completed the basic defensive tactics course in just under three hours this afternoon.
This training is part of a larger initiative by the KLE Society to prioritize the well-being and security of its entire workforce. Pure vision. By the end of the day, the hall was filled with an incredible sense of achievement as the staff practiced coordinated defensive stances together. High energy.
