The SSK community in Gadag is preparing for a massive spiritual and social milestone. On April 26, 2026, the Gadag Somavamsha Sahasrarjun Kshatriya (SSK) Samaj Panch Committee will host a combined Mass Upanayana and Mass Marriage program. We saw the community come together to honor the memory of Late Smt. Yashodhabai Ambasa Pujari, through this large-scale charitable event on March 25, 2026.
Upanayana (Thread Ceremony): Starts at 9:00 AM sharp during the auspicious Mithuna Lagna (ಮಿಥುನ ಲಗ್ನ).
Brahmopadesha: Scheduled for 12:30 PM under the Abhijit Muhurta (ಅಭಿಜಿತ್ ಮುಹೂರ್ತ) for maximum spiritual alignment.
Mass Marriage: The wedding ceremonies will conclude the religious proceedings immediately following the thread ceremonies.
Mahaprasada: A community lunch for all attendees will be served at 1:00 PM.

This event is a masterclass in community collaboration. The Taruna Sangha and Mahila Mandala are working in tandem with donors Smt. Malabai and Shri Parashuramasa Ambasa Pujari to manage the logistics. We talked to organizers who noted that hosting these events under the banner of the Shree Jagadamba Temple helps alleviate the massive financial burden on individual families. It is a rare sight to see hundreds of families uniting for a single, synchronized celebration.
Registration is currently peaking for both the thread ceremony and the weddings. Families looking to participate must contact the committee members, including Shri Nagaraj Ambasa Pujari or Pallavi Parashuram Pujari, to secure their spot. The event, falling on Vaishakha Shudda Dashami, is expected to draw thousands of attendees from across the region to Gadag’s Old Saraff Bazaar area (see the contact details below).
Community Outreach and Registration
To join the mass marriage or Upanayana program, the committee has released several primary helplines: 7892456109, 8310694560, and 9663481554. Organizers emphasize that these programs are designed to promote social equality and reduce wasteful expenditure on private ceremonies. High-density coordination is already underway to ensure every ritual is performed with traditional Vedic precision.
