Gadag: A grand SSK community celebration is set to take place at Shri Jagadamba Temple, Old Saraff Bazaar, Gadag, on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The event will feature a Samuhika Upanayana (Mass Sacred Thread Ceremony) and Samuhika Vivaha (Mass Marriage Ceremony), bringing together families from across the region.
Our sources confirmed that the Gadag Somavamsha Sahasrarjuna Kshatriya (SSK) Samaj Panch Committee is leading the effort, with strong support from Taruna Sangha and Mahila Mandala. Organizers say the ceremonies are dedicated to the memory of Late Smt. Yashodhabai Ambasa Pujari and sponsored by Smt. Malabai and Shri Parashurama Ambasa Pujari.
The schedule begins on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM, when all participating grooms, brides, and Vatus (thread ceremony initiates) must arrive at the temple premises for initial religious rituals. The main ceremonies will unfold throughout Sunday, April 26, with thousands expected to attend.
We saw preparations already underway at the temple grounds, with volunteers setting up seating, food arrangements, and decorative mandaps. Organizers estimate that more than 50 couples and 100 Vatus will take part in the mass rituals, making it one of the largest such events in Gadag in recent years.
SSK Community leaders told us the goal is to promote unity and reduce financial burdens on families by conducting the ceremonies collectively. “This is about tradition, togetherness, and helping those who might otherwise struggle with expenses,” one committee member said.

Images and videos of the ceremonies are expected to be shared widely on social media, with a related social embed planned for coverage on panasiabiz.com. The event is drawing attention not only locally but also from neighboring districts.
For registration and information, the invitation lists several helplines: Shri Parashurama Ambasa Pujari (9342387457), Shri Nagaraja Ambasa Pujari (9886552253), Shri Satish Nagaraja Pujari (8861880888), and committee helplines (7892456109 / 8310694560 / 9663481554).
With blessings of the community and the temple, Gadag is preparing for a weekend of devotion, tradition, and celebration.
