Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honored 158 dedicated officers today during the annual Police Flag Day celebrations held at the Koramangala Police Parade Ground in Bengaluru on April 2, 2026. We saw the state leader present the prestigious Chief Minister’s Medal to personnel who displayed exceptional bravery. This date marks the 1965 reorganization of the state’s police force. Home Minister G. Parameshwara and Director General of Police Dr. M.A. Saleem joined the Chief Minister on stage to congratulate the awardees.
Our sources confirmed that Siddaramaiah used the event to issue a stern directive regarding the rise of digital crimes across the state. “Karnataka must become a drug-free state, and we need to use advanced technology to curb the high rate of cybercrime,” the Chief Minister stated during his address.
He emphasized that the detection rate for online fraud remains a challenge. We talked to several officers who noted that the government is providing new resources to modernize the state’s forensic capabilities.

According to Public TV English, the Chief Minister linked internal security directly to the state’s economic health. “Investment and job creation depend entirely on maintaining peace and a strong law and order environment,” Siddaramaiah explained. He praised the police for working 24 hours a day to keep citizens safe. This commitment is credited with a noticeable decline in major crimes over the last three years.
The related social media update from the Chief Minister’s official handle will be featured below, showcasing the medal presentation ceremony. We saw the footage of officers saluting as they received their gold medals in front of their families.
These April 2026 celebrations also involve raising funds for the welfare of retired police personnel. Every medal represents a story of individual sacrifice for the public good.
