Hubballi, April 7, 2026: The Sri Gajanan Utsav Samiti, Dajibannapet, Hubballi, will mark its 50th anniversary with a grand community event on April 12, 2026. As part of the celebrations, a mass upanayana ceremony for 151 boys from all communities will be held, highlighting the organization’s commitment to social and cultural traditions.
On Monday, committee members personally invited Union Minister Prahlad Joshi to attend the function as chief guest. Accepting the invitation, Joshi described the event as “a noble social initiative” and confirmed his participation. He emphasized that such ceremonies strengthen community bonds and preserve cultural heritage.
During the meeting, Joshi also addressed concerns related to the recent Love Jihad case involving the SSK community’s Khushi Kalburgi. He stated that directions had already been issued to the police commissioner to take strict action against the accused who is a gym owner in Hubli. “No offender will escape punishment. It is our duty to ensure justice,” he said, adding that he would personally visit the victim’s family.
The invitation meeting was attended by several community leaders, including Bhaskar Jituri, Secretary of SSK Samaj Karnataka State, Sanjay Meharawade, President of Sri Gajanan Utsav Samiti, Pandurang Meharawade, Honorary President, and Srinivas Ratan, Honorary Secretary. Their presence underscored the collective effort behind the upcoming celebration.
Organizers expect more than 2,000 participants and guests to attend the anniversary program. A related social media embed will showcase community reactions and preparations, with hashtags like #HubballiGajananUtsav already trending locally.
The event is set to be one of the largest cultural gatherings in Hubballi this year, combining tradition, social responsibility, and community solidarity.
