
Belfast, April 8, 2026: Actor Michael Patrick, known for his role in “Game of Thrones” and acclaimed stage performances in Northern Ireland, has died at the age of 35. He had been battling Motor Neurone Disease (MND) since 2023.

Patrick, also known as Michael Campbell, was diagnosed with MND three years ago. Despite the illness, he continued to perform and even adapted Shakespeare’s Richard III to reflect his condition. He passed away on April 7, 2026, at the Northern Ireland Hospice, surrounded by family. His wife, Naomi Sheehan, confirmed the news in a heartfelt message: “Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice. He lived a life as full as any human can live. Mick was an inspiration to everyone who was privileged enough to come into contact with him.”
