Dharwad police recover stolen motorcycles worth ₹2.35 lakh

Dharwad, April 9, 2026: Dharwad City Police have arrested Shivanand Mane, an accused in a recent bike theft case. The operation was led by Police Inspector Gurunath Chavhan and his team, who successfully recovered seven stolen motorcycles valued at around ₹2.35 lakh.

According to officials, the accused had stolen bikes from different parts of Dharwad. Acting on credible information, the police team tracked him down and seized the stolen vehicles. The recovery has brought relief to several bike owners who had reported thefts in recent weeks.

The Hubli Dharwad City Police released the news via their official X account, along with photos.

Inspector Gurunath Chavhan stated, “We formed a special team to investigate the rising bike theft cases in the city. The accused was arrested and the stolen bikes have been recovered.”

Court Proceedings

After the arrest, Shivanand Mane was produced before the court. Police have confirmed that further investigation is underway to determine if he was involved in other theft cases across the region.
