‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ box-office collection report and review

Hindi romantic comedy film “Gori Tere Pyaar Mein” (GTPM) has released on Nov 22, 2013. The movie written and directed by Punit Malhotra, of “I Hate Love Storys” fame once again features Imran Khan.

The movie is releasing in around 3500 screens in India and around 500 screens overseas.

However this time he has his favourite heroine Kareena Kapoor Khan along with “Aashiqui 2” fame Shraddha Kapoor in a pivotal role. Kareena and Imran have already acted together in an earlier movie “Ekk main Aur Ekk Tu”.

The movie was earlier supposed to star Sonam Kapoor, who backed out due to scripting issues. Imran Khan was backed out then Shahid Kapoor was supposedly approached.

Since Shahid also had scripting issues, Imran Khan later returned to the project and Kareena was signed as the heroine. The screenplay and story of the movie are by Arshad Syed and Punit Malhotra.

GTPM is produced by Karan Johar of Dharma productions. The soundtrack by Vishal-Shekhar has already reached chartbusters.

A special song “Dhat Teri Ki” features Eesha Gupta of “Jannat 2” fame in a special appearance. Songs like “Naina” which is a soft melody, peppy numbers “Chingam Chabake” and “Tooh” have already become instant hits due to their music and zany lyrics.

The movie is competing with Sunny deol’s “Singh Saab the Great” which is also releasing on same day and previous week’s release “Ram-Leela”.

The movie dissapointed by collecting just Rs 3.25 crores on its 1st day.
