‘R… Rajkumar’ box-office collection report and review

Hindi action film “R… Rajkumar” which was earlier known as “Rambo Rajkumar” has released on Dec 6, 2013.

Starring Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Sonu Sood in main roles, the movie is directed by Prabhu Deva and written by Shiraz Ahmed.

It has been produced by Sunil Lulla and Viki Rajani. Telugu actor Srihari who played a role in the movie died after completing his shoot. He is well known actor in Telugu movies and was suffering from a liver ailment.

Reviews of the movie have so far been average to negative. Indian Express has called it as worst movie while Zee news called it predictable and boring.

The movie has earned a whopping Rs 9.5 crores on its 1st day at the box-office.

This is the first time that director Prabhu Deva is directing an original movie in Hindi. His earlier movies have been remakes of successful South Indian movies.Chartbuster songs like ‘Gandi Baat’ and ‘Saree Ke Fall Sa’ from the movie are topping the charts and may become crowd pullers for the movie.

Box-office collections of the movie are expected to be around 10 crores for opening day and 35 crores for the weekend. So far the movie has opened better then “Bullet Raja” and below “Ram-Leela”.

R… Rajkumar had an average opening on its first day with an average occupancy of 40%. The film performing good in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan with 50% occupancy percentage. The movie has got terrific opening at single screens already.
