Salman Khan thanks fans for watching ‘Jai Ho’

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who had taken blame for the failure of “Jai Ho” earlier, took to social networking site Twitter thanking fans for their support.

“Jai Ho” had collected Rs 17.75 crore on its opening day which is less than the expectations. The movie collected a total of Rs 77 crore in its first week.

Salman Khan’s performance at the controversial Saifai festival and his celebrations with BJP’s Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had reportedly angered certain sections of a community.

“Jai Ho” directed by Salman’s brother Sohail Khan starring Daisy Shah and Sana Khan collected Rs 100 cr worldwide despite slow start.

The movie received negative reviews and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the movie is unlike any Salman movie of the past 3-4 years as it is yet to enter the Rs 100 crore mark.

As per Taran the per day collections of “JaiHo” in India alone is a total of Rs 77.48 cr nett.

Salman tweeted thanking all fans who have seen “Jai Ho” and liked it. He said that he totally appreciates it.

 

The movies box office fortunes were expected to be revived by Salman Khan after Monday, but they didn’t reflecting meagre figures on Monday and Tuesday. Even though the movie crossed Rs 100 crores in five says worldwide, that was not expected out of it.

Much before the release of the film, Salman’s brother Sohail who is the directer of the movie has been saying in his interviews that ‘Jai Ho” will break the records of SRK’s “Chennai Express” or Aamir Khans “Dhoom 3”.
