Aishwarya Rai Bachchan joins Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu in Mani Ratnam movie

Reports have emerged that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given her consent to star in the upcoming Mani Ratnam flick which will star Telugu heroes Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu in the lead roles.

The untitled project is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and is set to go on floors later this year around September-October. A source from Mani Ratnam’s office has reportedly confirmed the news to the newspaper.

Rumours are also doing rounds that Kamal Hassan’s daughter Shruthi Hassan who had expressed her desire to work with Mani Rathnam in the past may also star in the multi starrer opposite Mahesh Babu.

This is first time that Mahesh and Shruthi are working with each other and also with the acclaimed director. Mani Rathnam’s earlier project, a cinematic interpretation of Tamil classic “Ponniyin Selvan” with Mahesh is presumably still on hold.

Aishwarya’s representative said that the actress has been in talks with Mani Ratnam and she has given her consent for the film.

Nagarjuna has worked in the hugely-successful movie “Geethanjali” with Mani Ratnam. He has confirmed that he is doing the project starring Mahesh Babu. The actor who is still mourning his father Nageswara Rao’s death said that he was not aware of any other details of the project.
