On Thursday, October 7, 2021, two teachers were shot dead at a government school of Iddgah Sangam in Srinagar. This incident increased the number of targeted civilians to five since Tuesday. Earlier on Tuesday, two people were killed, among which one was a well-known Kashmiri pandit, reports NDTV.
A police official said an unknown gunman barged into the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Iddgah Sangam, and fired at two teachers who died on the spot.
Two teachers were killed two days after Makhan Lal Bindroo, a 68-year-old chemist, street vendor Virender Paswan from Bihar’s Bhagalpur, and Muhammad Shafi Lone, a taxi driver, were shot dead in Kashmir on Tuesday.
Targeted Killing
These two teachers killed belonged to the minority groups of Kashmir. The pistol-wielding men who entered the school at about 11:15 AM asked for the identity cards of the teachers.
Later they shot the teachers belonging to both of the minority communities.
Political Parties leaders condemned the attack
Former chief minister Omar Abdullah said condemnation is not enough for this inhuman act of terror. He tweeted about this incident.
Shocking news coming in again from Srinagar. Another set of targeted killings, this time of two teachers in a Govt school in Idgah area of the city. Words of condemnation are not enough for this inhuman act of terror but I pray for the souls of the deceased to rest in peace.

Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti of the People’s Democratic Party also took this incident to her Twitter account giving condolences to the families of the deceased.
Disturbing to see the deteriorating situation in Kashmir where a minuscule minority is the latest target. GOI’s claims of building a Naya Kashmir has actually turned it into a hellhole. It’s sole interest is to use Kashmir as a milch cow for its electoral interests. https://t.co/B4LhFUA3ag

TRF claims responsibility
The Resistance Front (TRF) has taken responsibility for the attack on social media platforms. A TRF spokesperson said that The Shaheed Gazi Squad carried out the targeted attack on two non-locals who were domicile holders and had harassed the parents of the students to salute the occupier’s flag on August 15. TRF is run from Karachi, Pakistan.
Killings this year
Three civilians, including famous M.L Bindroo of the Bindroo Medicate, were shot dead on Tuesday. The victims were not associated with any group. It is a malicious propaganda by TRF because Bindroo was working with the RSS. Around 27 civilians have been killed this year in the Kashmir valley.
