Tennis ace Roger Federer is going to have a showdown with the defending champion of the Dubai Open, Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
Federer defeated Czech Lukas Rosol on Thursday to reach the semis. Rosol, who had famously ousted Rafael Nadal at Wimbledon with 6-2, 6-2 in 2013, was outplayed by the 17-time Grand Slam winner.
The Swiss has expressed confidence to win over the match with Djokovic saying that he believes that both of them would be on even terms in their match. In their head-to-head record, Federer leads the World number two by 16-15 but he lost the last three matches.
Federer believes that both of them play explosive and aggressive tennis and they know each other very well. He said that the he had played with Djokovic in all the surfaces. He hailed Djokovic, saying that the Serb has improved his game by cleaning up in serves, volleys, and movement, forehand and backhand also.
Djokovic had advanced to the semi-finals in the Dubai Open when his Russian opponent Mikhail Youzhny withdrew as he was taken ill.
Meanwhile, third seed Tomas Berdych may be reaching the final for the second time in a row. He is playing seventh seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber in the semi-finals on Friday .
