‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ review: Watch it for Vidya Balan!

Vidya Balan and Farhan Akhtar starrer romcom “Shaadi Ke Side Effects” which released on Feb 28, 2013 has started decently. The film is produced by Balaji and Pritish Nandy Communications.

The movie which opened to positive reviews had around 30 percent occupancy in the morning shows and is comparatively better than previous week release “Highway”. The ongoing Asia Cup was expected to affect the initials.

Critic Subhash K. Jha rated the film 4 stars out of 5 while Madhureeta Mukherjee of The Times of India rated it 3.5 out of 5 .

“Shaadi Ke Side Effects” is a sequel to “Pyaar Ke Side Effects” which was targeted at multiplex audiences. While the earlier comedy film showed the effects of falling the love, the latter deals with the events that happen after marriage in a comic manner.

Both Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan are being appreciated for their chemistry with Farhan scoring the brownie points as the script is mostly from a male point of view. Pritam’s music has also caught well with audience be it “Harry’s not a brahmchari” or “Tauba mein Vyah Karke”.

With no competition in sight, the movie is expected to collect well. Good word of mouth and positive reviews are expected to boost the business of the movie.
