U.S. President Joe Biden gave his remarks on the account of the first anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol in the Statuary Hall of the U.S. in Washington, D.C., the U.S. on January 6, 2022.

Marking of the Capitol riot’s anniversary

The one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol riot was held to call an end to the political division in the country. President Biden made a few verbal attacks on former President Trump in the presence of Democrats and only two Republicans. He urged everyone to remember the day of violence and try to maintain peace and harmony in the country.

Biden Condemns the attack

Biden condemned the attack on the White House saying that rioters involved in the act had attacked these halls and breached the Capitol. The life of the Speaker of the House was in danger and also they tried hang the vice president of the United States of America.

He said that never in the history of America, a presidential candidate not only lost the election but also tried to provoke his supporters which resulted in such a horrific incident that America had witnessed a year ago. While facing this brutal attack; the Capitol Police, the National Guard, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, and the other brave officials saved the rule of law while the Trump supporters were involved in this shameful act.

Donald Trump’s conduct in office

Biden remarked on Trump’s behaviour when he was a President during the past year saying that “His conduct in office, has been norm-shattering. Unlike other former U.S. presidents who failed to be re-elected, Trump has refused to accept the verdict of the voters and pressured fellow Republicans to somehow overturn the results, without success.” Trump’s false claims about fraud in the voting resulted in the passing of new restrictions for the voting measures which are needed to fight fraud during such times. Although there are no such proofs of fraud during the U.S elections.

Injured in the riot

About 140 police officers were injured while a mob broke breached the Capitol, broke doors and windows. The mob assaulted those police officers dragged, had beaten and stomped not only on them but on the law of America which urges to maintain peace and harmony in the country.
