‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ Review, Public Response and Box Office Collections

Indian movie “Gangubai Kathiawadi” starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role has collected Rs 39 Crores at the box office. The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bansali is based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi`s book `Mafia Queens of Mumbai`, the film revolves around the life of Gangubai Kothewali.

The film collected ₹10.50 crore on its opening day and had collected ₹13.32 crore on day two. The flick extremely well on Sunday based on word of mouth collecting around ₹15.30 crore, taking its total weekend collections to around ₹39.12 crores.

Gangubai Harjivandas, aka Gangubai Kothewali or Gangubai Kathiawadi was an Indian prostitute and madam of a brothel in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai during the 1960s.
