‘World Piano Day’- A musical day to celebrate

“World Piano Day” is celebrated on the 88th day of the year because the piano has a total of eighty-eight keys. This year, the celebration takes place on March 29. The day is introduced to celebrate and honor this beautiful instrument.

Keys

The keys are the prime thing to familiarize yourself with while learning piano. On the keyboard, the white and black keys run from left to right. A classical piano has a total of 88 keys- 52 white keys and 36 black keys. The keys are not at alternative positions, but there is a specific pattern. This pattern has five black and seven white keys. The interval formed after a specific pattern is called the octave. This interval is the musical distance between two sounds.
The highest keys are on the right and the lowest area on the left. Every key is a half step higher than the key before it. So, to make a full step, one needs to go up or down two half steps.
