The Chintan Shivir Being Held At Rajasthan By Congress

Ajay Maken, general secretary of the All India Congress Party, briefed up on the discussion earlier today at a media briefing ahead of the Shivir, events are likely to occur during the party’s formulating session

Chintan Shivir is being conducted against the benchmark of the party’s electoral defeats since 2014. Not only did the party lose the two Lok Sabha elections, but it also missed several assembly elections. The Congress now has sole control of only two states: Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The party is projected to develop a strong campaign against the BJP in future elections, along with the general election in 2024.

The Shivir will hold collective meetings and roundtables for the great old party, whose political influence is dwindling throughout the country, with around 450 leaders in participating. The party is working hard to reclaim its political fortunes, even when it has full control government only in two states.

When did the shivir started?

The three-day Congress “Nav Sankalp Shivir” commenced on Friday in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The party’s most recent “Chintan Shivir” was organized in Jaipur in 2013. The party’s general secretary, Ajay Maken, stated that this Chintan Shivir will welcome in a new phase in the party.

Major Policy Reforms that are likely to be approved

Several major policy reforms, which include the “one family, one ticket” concept for future elections, are likely to be considered and approved during the shivir, according to Congress leaders. However, according to reports, the regulation is probable to prevent the Gandhi family from running for office jointly.

The party also intends to engage an intelligence unit that will conduct 24×7 polls for Congress to evaluate public opinion on various subjects. One of the most serious criticisms levelled at Congress is that its representatives have no transparency, no consequence for misconduct, and no motivation to work hard. To address this, Congress intends to establish an inspection committee that will evaluate the work of the representatives and credit or penalize them based on their effectiveness.
