Popular South Indian playback singer, Sangeetha Sajith, died on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at her home in Thiruvanathapuram. The 46-year-old singer was undergoing treatment for kidney-related problems for the last few months.
Sangeetha has sung over 200 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. Her last work was the theme song for the Prithviraj-starrer ‘Kuruthi’.
Her song ‘Thanneerai Kathalikkum’ was composed by AR Rahman. She was the daughter of VG Sachith and Rajamma and was a native of the Kottayam district in Kerala. She had settled in Chennai. Sangeetha is survived by her daughter Aparna.
