IPL fever hits UAE with tickets for opening games sold out

The seventh edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to kick off on April 16 in the United Arab Emirates.

BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel said in a release that cricket-lovers in the UAE are spoilt for choice with eight teams playing this time and fans should go to Dubai International Stadium, Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Cricket Stadium venues to witness some thrilling cricket.

The excitement can be felt as tickets of all the first four games have already been sold out. The Emirates Cricket Board is looking forward to the BCCI’s support in helping the growth of cricket in the UAE. An official said that “IPL is IPL,” and public interest cannot wane.

IPL tickets can be purchased from the two official online ticket sites: www.Iplt20.Com or www.Ticketmaster.Ae.

The IPL 7 gala dinner hosted at Emirates Palace on April 15 will have Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, KKR co-owner Juhi Chawla, Rajasthan Royal’s co-owner Shilpa Shetty and Kings XI Punjab’s co-owner Preity Zinta.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone were spotted practising hard at 3 am in Abu Dhabi. Among the medley of songs are ‘Lungi Dance’ from ‘Chennai Express’ and Chammak Challo from ‘RA.One’. Shah Rukh is reportedly attending the Kolkata Knight Rider’s opening match on April 16 and leaving for Mumbai the next day.
