BTS’ Billboard 200-topping album Proof honored the group’s first nine years together and offered fans a moment to look back on all the music the South Korean superstars have released. Throughout their time, the band has also teamed up with some of the world’s most prominent musicians for numerous beloved collaborations — enough to warrant their own anthology. In doing so, BTS made a point to pair with and rise up alongside fellow artists they respect.
While their collaborators have ranged from behind-the-scenes beatmakers like Supreme Boi to fellow festival headliners like Coldplay and Nicki Minaj, a common thread among the best team-ups is a mutual appreciation between artists.
BTS has also been unique in the way they approach collaborations. Sometimes a collab only enlists the rappers, like when RM and Suga teamed with Juice WRLD for “All Night.” Or maybe only the group’s vocalists hop in the booth as they did with their Steve Aoki ballad “The Truth Untold.” The Bangtan boys are also known for mixing and matching their techniques, looking at what the music and song require, and being thoughtful about who joins on the record.
The group’s conscious efforts in collaboration have led to Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s along with tracks that still only live on YouTube. Billboard has sifted through them to rank BTS’ 15 best collabs to date. For this list, the BTS collaborations considered are any song where BTS is a credited artist, and two or more members of BTS are featured on the track.
