Day 6 IPL 7: Chennai Super Kings demolish Delhi Daredevils by 93 runs

After a shocking defeat against Kings XI Punjab in the tournament opener, Chennai Super Kings were eager to win against Delhi Daredevils at Abu Dhabi on Monday. Not only did they register their first win but also defeated Delhi Daredevils by a huge margin of 93 runs.

After winning the toss, CSK decided to bat first and made a score of 177 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs with a runrate of 8.85. Suresh Raina with 56 runs in 41 balls and skipper MS Dhoni with 32 runs in 15 balls remained top scoring batmen for CSK.

For DD, JP Duminy had the least economy of 6.5 with one wicket while Mohammed Shami and Jimmy Neesham also picked a wicket each. Unadkat had major success picking McCullum, Dhoni and Jadeja’s wickets

In reply, Daredevils struggled with a nightmarish start, losing half the side by the 10th over with just 50 runs on the board. Jimmy Neesham(22) and Dinesh Karthik (21) were the highest scorers.

Coming with a disciplined bowling and fielding, CSK bundled out DD for a paltry 84 in 15.4 overs. Ishwar Pandey, debuting for Chennai took an impressive two wickets and gave 23 runs. Ashwin (2/3) and Jadeja (2/18) helped Chennai restrict Delhi.
