Actress Rani Mukherjee marries Aditya Chopra in a secret wedding

Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji has finally married Yash Raj Films head and producer Aditya Chopra at a private ceremony in Italy on April 21, 2014.

The news was confirmed officially in a statement released by Yash Raj Films. The ceremony was a private affair attended by only close friends and family.

The official statement of Rani Mukherjee on YRF website read that she would like to share the happiest day of her life with all her fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of her journey all these years. She said that it was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of their close family and friends. The one person she missed terribly was Yash Uncle ( Yash Chopra), who was there in spirit and whose blessings will always be with her and Adi. Rani said that she has always believed in fairy-tales and her life has been exactly like one and now – the fairy-tale continues.

Newspaper DC reported that the marriage was planned initially for 2013 but was put on hold due to the legendary filmmaker and Aditya’s father Yash Chopra’s demise. Hence the wedding date was postponed by a year.

The Chopra family, including Adi’s mother Pamela and younger brother Uday had reportedly flown to Italy a few days before the wedding while Aditya flew in on Saturday. Rani’s family too have kept the details mum. The wedding was low key with only family members and close friends like Karan Johar and Vaibhavi Merchant.
