Match 18: Virender Sehwag helps script fifth consecutive win for Kings XI Punjab against RCB in IPL 7

Kings XI Punjab continued their explosive winning streak with their fifth consecutive win against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday. The KXIP defeated RCB by five wickets in Dubai yesterday.

Scorecard:
RCB- 124/8 with top scorer Yuvraj Singh- 35(32) and Rishi Dhawan – 2/14.
Kings XI Punjab – 127/5 with top scorer Virender Sehwag – 32(26) and Sandeep Sharma 3/15.

Man-of-the-Match Sandeep Sharma rattled the RCB top order picking up three wickets and restricting them to 125 while batsman Virender Sehwag top scored for Punjab with 32, helping them to beat RCB by five wickets.

Sandeep said that he is lucky to get back-to-back awards and it was a big moment dismissing Gayle. He felt that it was awesome as he had seen Gayle play so many times.

George Bailey, captain of Kings XI Punjab said they are working well as a unit. Praising Sehwag’s calm nature, he said that with him at the top he knows that boundaries will come. Bailey is looking to get back to India now after the good start.

Virat Kohli, captain of the Royal Challengers said that in the T20 format the momentum can turn around pretty quickly. He felt that they did not apply themselves in the batting department but praised the bowlers for dragging the game till the end.
