Beyonce and Chloe Bailey’s Sweetest Moments – Billboard

Although Chlöe is still in the early stages of her solo career, her relationship with her mentor Beyoncé spans years.

As one-half of the Grammy-nominated sister duo Chloe x Halle, Chlöe Bailey has been under the watchful eye of Beyoncé for the vast majority of her mainstream music career. Queen Bey and Chlöe first crossed paths back in 2003, when Chlöe played a young version of Beyoncé’s character in The Fighting Temptations. More than a decade later, Beyoncé signed Chloe x Halle to her Parkwood Entertainment management company. The duo became the superstar’s protégés in 2015 after Beyoncé came across a viral video of the pair covering her own “Pretty Hurts,” the opening track from her eponymous 2013 album.

In the time since then, Chloe x Halle have emerged as an R&B force with their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Do It” and beloved albums including Ungodly Hour. At the 2020 Billboard Women in Music Awards, Beyoncé presented the duo with the Rising Star Award. “I’m so proud of you,” Beyoncé gushed of the pair. “You’ve done this with authenticity, with grace, with raw talent, and you manage to shine in every room you enter, and I’ll always love you.”

In 2021, Chlöe made her debut as a soloist with the bombastic “Have Mercy,” which peaked at No. 28 on the Hot 100. Chlöe has since graced the chart twice more with “Treat Me” (No. 81) and “You & Me,” a duet with Gunna (No. 72). Beyoncé, of course, is no stranger to the Hot 100: The iconic singer recently scored her milestone 20th solo top 10 hit with “Break My Soul,” the lead single from her forthcoming Renaissance album.
