West Indies take on India in the third and final ODI on July 27, Wednesday in Trinidad.
The visitors are trailing 0-2 in the series and will look to win the game to avoid a whitewash. The Windies were whitewashed by Bangladesh in their previous ODI series.
Both teams will take on each other in a five-match T20I series starting from July 29 after the end of the ODIs series. The Windies have been far more competitive in the ODI series against India than they were against West Indies. They were very much in the game in the second ODI after scoring 312 with the bat batting first.Â
Axar Patel’s late cameo ensured India won the second ODI and their 12th consecutive ODI series win over West Indies. The Indian team without their senior players has stepped up and performed. Shreyas Iyer scored back-to-back fifties in the first two games. Axar and Sanju Samson scored the fifties in the last game as well.Â
With the ball, the bowlers were able to restrict West Indies under a manageable score after they got a good start. Both teams have a chance to tinker with their side and test their bench strength in this third and final game.Â
