Just two days ahead of the match, England pace spearhead James Anderson was charged with a Level 3 offence of ‘ICC Code of Conduct’ for allegedly “abusing and pushing” Ravindra Jadeja during the 1st Test match at Trent Bridge.

The incident had allegedly took place on the second day of the first test match last Thursday. Jadeja alleged that Anderson had abused and pushed him after they left the field for lunch.

The 2nd Test match is scheduled to start on Jul 17, 2014 at 15.30 IST.

The relations between the cricket boards ECB and BCCI have soured with each supporting their respective player.

ECB reacted with surprise and not only supported Anderson but also complained to the ICC against Ravindra Jadeja for the alleged altercation. The player has been charged with a Level 2 offence of the ICC Code of Conduct. Jadeja had allegedly took aggressive steps towards Anderson after leaving public area.

The ICC appointed a Judicial Commissioner to probe the charges, who will gather evidence for next 14 days. Which means both Jadeja and Anderson get to play second match with no prospect of a ban.
