Here’s Why Eminem Was Slammed At The Mtv Awards In 2002 – IWMBuzz

Eminem is one of the most well-known musicians in history, with a long and illustrious career. During that period, Eminem was featured in a variety of publications. He’s had his share of feuds, contentious moments, and albums that forever transformed the rap game. Eminem had just broken out as an artist in the early 2000s, and he wasn’t pulling any punches. Things went sideways during the 2002 VMAs, as Eminem left an indelible mark on the show.
The VMAs in 2002 were quite a show. This was back when people still cared about the event, and many celebrities flocked to the site to see whether they would walk away with what was still seen as a reward. Eminem took home a slew of prizes that night, but he also managed to ruffle a few feathers with his behaviour.
“The controversial rapper stood up to his billing, approaching Moby, a target of earlier Eminem lyrical insults while the techno star was being interviewed and thrusting a middle finger into his face just out of camera range,” MTV reported immediately after the event. This was just one occurrence throughout the event, and things only got worse from there.
