Mary Kom trailer impresses everyone with Priyanka Chopra’s acting

After the first look of “Mary Kom” released it had created waves. Priyanka Chopra resembled Olympic medalist Mary Kom’s grittiness in the role of ace boxer.

The film traces Manipuri boxer Mary Kom’s journey from prejudices against women boxers, battling the societal norms to reinventing her boxing post marriage and motherhood. Chopra is seen with her hair tied in a pony tail looking close to Mary’s look. Most of the other actors in the movie are from North-East with Priyanka being the only exception.

It would have been authentic had a Manipuri actor portrayed the role however Priyanka brings genuineness and her determination and weight loss is visible. There is no doubt that other actors would have fallen flat in portraying the role. Priyanka still looks glamorous even with less make-up.

Omung Kumar’s directed film is “inspired by” Mary Kom’s life, but seems like they took some liberties once again with some drama and action. “Mary Kom” movie will be releasing on 5th September, 2014.

Producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that Priyanka Chopra is his lucky mascot and he has tremendous respect for her. He called Priyanka as India’s answer to Hilary Swank. Having worked with Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji Sanjay chose Priyanka in particular which has also upset his previous protégés.

Sanjay had bonded well with Priyanka during the shooting of the special song of “Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ramleela”. Priyanka is working on “Mary Kom” and has also agreed to play Bajirao’s wife in upcoming “Bajirao Mastani”.The shooting will commence shortly for this film.
