Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Sachin Tendulkar and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attend Kabaddi Pro League

The first edition of the Pro Kabaddi League tournament has started on 26 July 2014. Based on the format of the Indian Premier League, the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is an Indian professional kabaddi league with eight franchises having players around the world.

The 8 teams include Bengal Warriors, Dabang Delhi, Puneri Paltan, Bengaluru Bulls, Telugu Titans, Jaipur Pink Panthers, Patna Pirates, and U Mumbai.

All the teams play in league matches and at the end of the group stages, the top-scoring four teams will play the Semi-Finals on August 29th at Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru.

Among the prominent celebrities holding the ownership include Abhishek Bachchan for the Jaipur team and Ronnie Screwvala for the Mumbai team.

The inaugural match between U Mumbai and Jaipur Panthers was attended by Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Sunil Shetty, Atul Kasbekar, and others.

Aishwarya was cheering for Abhishek’s team while Sachin was invited by Abhishek to support the league. He came with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara and said that the sport needs to be played as it has agility and speed. Sachin said that he has played Kabaddi in school.

Actor Aamir Khan was seen reminiscing his childhood where he used to play the sport. Aamir said that he was excited to see the sport after a long time. He was spotted having a good time while cheering for the teams.
