Xiaomi had put up 20,000 units on sale and they were all sold even before one could snap their fingers.
The company has been setting up records in India with its Mi3 flash sale. The first batch, it went off shelves reportedly within 40 minutes, the second batch sold in five seconds while the third one in a record of less than two seconds.
Xiaomi’s fourth batch of smartphones went up on sale on Tuesday at 2PM and is said to have sold out within 2.4 seconds. E-commerce site Flipkart considers the product as sold when someone hits the buy button. Later the transaction can be checkout by payment.
What is evident is that inspite of initial registration by 1 Lakh customers, Xiaomi till date has been releasing meagre units of 10k or 20k making it imperative for them to return for next flash sale. In addition fresh customers register to each flash sale and the company had been restocking with lesser stock creating an artificial demand among masses and pulling off another quick sell-out.
The Mi 3, packs a Snapdragon 800 for just Rs 13,999 and competes with the likes of the Nexus 5, Galaxy S4 and Xperia Z.
