'Finding Fanny' impresses critics and Bollywood

Reviews are already out for Homi Adajania’s “Finding Fanny” movie which is all set to hit theatres on Friday.

The film features veteran actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapoor, and young actors Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor. Actor Ranveer Singh has done a cameo in the movie. “Finding Fanny” has been made in English and Hindi languages.

The satirical movie is written and directed by Homi Adajania of “Being Cyrus” fame and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. Based on a road trip set in Goa, the film follows the journey of five dysfunctional friends set out on searching of Fanny, the love-interest of Naseeruddin Shah’s character.

The movie has already been screened twice for Bollywood celebrities. One was on September 1, 2014 and another such screening was on Sunday (September 7) where Arjun Kapoor’s cousin and actress Sonam was seen. Also spotted at the premiere were actresses Nargis Fakhri, Dia Mirza, Malaika Arora Khan, and Hrithik Roshan for the movie night out. “Finding Fanny” has a screen time of 93 minutes and has been rated U/A by the censor board.

The movie has been made on a budget of Rs 150 million ($ 2.5 million). The music of the movie is by Mathias Duplessy and Sachin-Jigar. The movie has also impressed critics and Bollywood during the screening. Hindustan Times rated the movie 3.5 out of 5 stars saying the movie is for those who like a slow, light-hearted take on life and love.

The movie has been selected to for screening at the 19th Busan International Film Festival which takes place in October 2014. It is scheduled for worldwide release on September 12, 2014.
