Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan on deciding to bat first: “Looks to be a good wicket, and putting the runs on the board will hopefully be difficult for Afghanistan to chase. Three seamers and two spinners, so hopefully the bowling part is covered. We prepared ourselves well according to their attack, because they’re a very good side.”
Anwar: “Is it a wise decision, bat first after wining the toss? I am afraid. Good luck Shakib. ” Well there seems to be some contradictory views from the experts. Russel Arnold had earlier said the pitch would hold up a bit, and that chasing might be better. But Scott Styris was just on eulogising the pitch as a “beautiful batting surface”.
