The United States has recently experienced the highest rates of inflation in more than 40 years. The most current synopsis of the Consumer Price Index shows that the interannual rate rise was 8.2% in September. Due to the high cost of living, numerous US states have authorized issuing tax rebates or stimulus checks.
These checks, a few of which are being sent in states where Republicans are in power, come several GOP leaders have sought to attribute high inflation to the stimulus payments that Democrats approved in Congress under the American Rescue Plan in March 2021.
California
The state legislature gave the go-ahead to deliver the Middle-Class Tax Refund of up to $1,050. From this month until January of the following year, payments will be sent.
Golden State Stimulus recipients in California (GSS I and II)
Residents who obtained a GSS I and II will receive direct deposit payments from the California Franchise Tax Board (CFTB) between October 7 and October 25, 2022. After that, beginning on October 25 and continuing through December 10, 2022, the government will start mailing debit cards to people who earned GSS I or II.

The Middle-Class Tax Refund, often known as an “inflation relief check,” will be given by direct deposit between October 28 and November 14, 2022, to Californians who are eligible but did not get a Golden State Stimulus payment. The post office will determine the arrival date for the remaining debit cards, which will be mailed by January 15, 2023.
South Carolina
In late Nov or early Dec, South Carolina taxpayers should anticipate receiving refunds ranging from $100 to $800. A “South Carolina Individual Income Tax Refund (SC1040) for the tax year 2021” must have been submitted by October 17, 2022, to be eligible to receive the check. Checks will be issued by December 31, 2022, to those who adhered to the deadline. Those who register are still eligible, but payouts won’t start until March 2023.
Illinois
Couples filing together with income under $400,000 will get a $100 refund, while individuals with income less than $200,000 would get $50 back. Additionally, taxpayers are permitted to make up to three dependents at a rate of $100 per dependent filed on their 2021 taxes. A four-member family has a maximum income potential of $300.
Indiana
The $200 will be delivered to residents this month per the Indiana Legislature’s approval. Social Security recipients and individuals who were “not listed as a dependant on someone else’s tax return” are both eligible. Receiving the payout does not need submitting any paperwork.
New York
New Yorkers who claimed the Earned Income Credit and/or the Empire State Child Credit on their state tax returns for 2021 will be eligible to get an average payment of $270 later this month. Receiving the payout requires no action on your part.

Virginian taxpayers will get tax rebates of $250 ($500 for joint filers). By October 11th, there will be 2.9 million refunds sent out. Residents who met the requirements and filed before July 1 need to get their refunds by October 31. In the remaining months of the year, the remaining checks will be mailed, reports As.
