With the cost of living and commodity prices zooming across the United States in 2022, several state authorities have affirmed financial relief programs through either stimulus payments or tax rebates.
However, nearly 800,000 Californians could be set for a timely financial bonus with the latest round of Golden State Stimulus II checks set to be disbursed over the month.
“We passed the recovery package to get money into the pockets of Californians who were hit hardest by this pandemic, and that’s exactly what the Golden State Stimulus is doing – already getting 1.6 billion dollars to 2.5 million Californians,” Governor Gavin Newsom said in a press statement in May 2021.
“Californians who have not filed their 2020 taxes should know they may qualify for these funds, and we look forward to building on programs like this that invest in and support Californians in the months ahead.”
“The Golden State Stimulus will provide a measure of relief to California taxpayers deeply affected by the pandemic,” the state’s comptroller and FTB Chair, Betty T. Yee, added.
“This stimulus, combined with the California Earned Income Tax Credit, will provide hundreds or even thousands of dollars to many individuals and families in need.”
Who will receive the stimulus payments?
The following is a list of eligibility criteria:
- Those who have Filed 2020 taxes by October 15, 2021
- Those who have had an adjusted Gross Income of 1 dollar to 75,000 dollars in California for the 2020 tax year
- Those who have been California residents for more than half of the 2020 tax year
When will you receive your stimulus payment?
Eligible residents in California will receive their payments between October 7 and October 25.
The other window is from October 28 to November 14, with payments set to issued until January 15, 2023.
