The tenth game of the World Chess Championship 2014 between current world champion Magnus Carlsen and challenger India’s Viswanathan Anand will be played at the Olympic Media Center in Sochi, Russia on Friday Nov 21, 2014.
The 10th game can be watched live at the official website of FIDE at http://www.sochi2014.fide.com/.
The re-match of 12 games between Anand vs Carlsen is being organized under the auspices of the World Chess Federation (FIDE).
Anand will play with white pieces in todays game. If he can somehow manage to pull off a win, the scores will be level with still two games to be played.
In game 8, Carlsen, playing with white pieces, started with the Berlin defence which Anand was well prepared and game was a tame draw after just 20 moves.
Carlsen drew the game thru perpetual check.
The previous head-to-head record between these two players has nothing much to show but equality.Both have played 40 games against each other and each have won six matches with twenty-eight games drawn.
The winner will take away sixty percent of the prize money of one million Euros. The loser will get forty percent of the prize money.
Even after 12 games, the points are level, tie-break games will be played. Each player will be given two hours per 40 moves.
And after that 60 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting after move 61.
