A protester attacked King Charles III by throwing eggs at him during the York visit. The 23 years old protester who has been released on bail was charged with violating the peace on Wednesday.

While the local authorities welcomed King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla, the protester began booing them before throwing the four eggs at them.

According to the Officers, a “well-rehearsed” security arrangement had been set up for the visit to ensure the safety of the royal couple. As the royals waved to spectators at Micklegate Bar, the king was not spared since the public continued to comment on him.

A security guard in a suit seemed to protect the king then and temporarily gripped his shoulder while the eggs were being thrown. An egg almost hit the King but did not react.
