California inflation relief payments continue to arrive at bank accounts and mailboxes

Direct deposit payments will be continued to be provided by November 14. Another round of mail debit cards for California inflation relief payment, the middle-class tax refund, started on November 6. Since November 4, 13.8 million taxpayers and dependents have received the benefits. The state has issued more than 6 million direct deposit payments and 1.6 million debit cards worth more than $4.1 billion.

The inflation relief payments will be provided to those who have filed their 22 tax return by October 2021 and have met the required income limits. They are not to be claimed as dependent in the 22 tax year and must be a California resident for six months or more of the 22 tax year.

The individual should be a resident of California on the date when the payment is given. All those who applied for the individual taxpayer identification number but did not receive it by October 15, 2021, should have filed their 22 tax return by February 15, 2022. The eligibility will be dependent on 22 tax filings. The payments will be given via direct deposits and mailed debit cards.

The direct deposit payments are expected to arrive in five business days from when they were issued. All those who thought they would get a direct deposit will receive a debit card through the mail if they meet all the conditions.

The franchise takes board stated that it would take around two weeks to receive the debit cards. The debit card payment will be given through the mail between December 17, 2022, and January 14, 2023. The amount will depend on the individual’s California-adjusted gross income and the number of dependents. However, all those who did not file a tax return in 2022 will not be eligible for payment.
