Amber Heard recently reached the top of the Most Searched Celebrity on Google in 2022. She has already gained recognition for the defamation suit she filed this year, and right now, she has been trending for being on the top spot of the list of the most googled A-listers of 2022. After Amber Heard, Johnny Depp is in the second spot. A spokesperson of CelebTattler said to The New York Post,
“This year has certainly not been lacking in celebrity news stories, whether it be Elon Musk taking over Twitter or the ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ behind-the-scenes drama.”
Amber Heard becomes Google most searched celebrity in 2022. I wish it were for better reasons, but one things for sure, the trial made her one of the most famous women in the world. Everyone knows who she is. May the support for her keep rising. #IStandWithAmberHeard pic.twitter.com/Vzf3GqUTGb

Queen Elizabeth II was in the third spot following her demise this year, with 4.3 million Google searches per month for the year. Footballer Tom Brady ranks fourth on the list with 4.06 million searches. Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, and Elon Musk grabbed the fifth, sixth, and seventh positions with 3.4 million, 3.2 million, and 3.19 million Google Searches per month.
Heard married actor Johnny Depp in 2015. The dissolution of the marriage in May 2016 garnered widespread media attention when Heard filed a restraining order against Depp in which she cited domestic violence. Depp would later file a defamation lawsuit against British tabloid newspaper The Sun over their coverage of Heard’s domestic abuse allegations and another against Heard herself for an op-ed published in her name in the Washington Post.
While Depp lost the former lawsuit, the latter, over which Heard filed a countersuit, became the subject of a widely-publicized trial, which concluded with a jury finding both Heard and Depp liable for defamation and left Heard in $8.35 million debt to Depp. Heard received widespread backlash over her allegations and the subsequent court cases, particularly on social media.
She has appeared in various movies like ‘Aquaman,’ ‘All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, ‘The Ward,’ ‘Drive Angry,’ ‘Pineapple Express, ‘Never Back Down, ‘The Joneses,’ ‘Machete Kills,’ ‘Magic Mike XXL,’ and ‘The Danish Girl.’ She will next appear in the sequel to ‘Aquaman’ – ‘Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,’ scheduled to release on December 25, 2023.
