Chinese prosecutors in Beijing indicted superstar Jackie Chan’s son Jaycee on a drug charge on Monday as more than 100 grams were found from his apartment in August, 2014 .
He was detained more than four months ago on a charge of sheltering others to use drugs and hiring prostitutes, The Associated Press reported. If convicted, the singer-actor Jaycee Chan could face up to three years in jail.
Jaycee Chan, 32 and Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, 23-both got arrested by the Chinese Police at Jaycee’s Beijing apartment in August when they were found with the drugs. Ko was released after a 14 day administrative detention for drug abuse.
But, the famous father’s son Jaycee was put under “Criminal Offence” as there were more serious charges on him of giving shelter to others for using drugs and hiring prostitutes.
According to the prosecutors and media, the Hollywood star’s son is now in “Hot water”. The entire operation of Chinese Police Force capturing Jaycee’s Beijing apartment and continuing their operations there had been broadcasted over several news channels, which brought a shameful day to his famous father, a “Narcotics Control Ambassador”, selected by the Chinese Police in 2009.
Jaycee Chan’s management firm M’Stones International apologized on his behalf at the time for the “Social Impact” and declared they would “Supervise his rehabilitation and help him return to the right path.”
The heartbroken father, Jackie Chan apologized publicly for the scandals created by his son.
“Regarding this issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I’m very ashamed. As a father, I’m heartbroken,” Chan wrote.
