In 2022, about half of the US states will have distributed “stimulus cheques.” Even while the stimulus checks sent by the state government last year were generally more extensive, these state contributions can still be a significant source of additional assistance for families struggling with greater inflation and other financial challenges.
Most state stimulus payouts have already been distributed to qualified people as the year ends. However, in a few states, payments will still be made in December.
Stimulus Check Of California
This year, qualified citizens of California will receive stimulus payouts ranging from $200 to $1,050. (The sums are referred to as “Middle-Class Tax Refunds” in official documents.) For an approximate value of your payment amount, use the online calculator provided by the California Franchise Tax Board.
Californians in their millions have already gotten paid. However, Golden State Stimulus (GSS) payments will still be made to existing recipients by debit card until December 10, 2022. (another debit card will be sent).
Suppose you are scheduled to get a debit card for your California stimulus payout but have not yet received a GSS debit card. In that case, you can anticipate receiving your payment between December 5 and December 31, 2022.
Colorado Stimulus
Adult citizens of Colorado are entitled to “Cash Back” payouts of $750 for single filers in 2022 and $1,500 for joint filers if they submitted a 2021 Colorado income tax return or a 2021 Colorado property tax/rent/heat credit (PTC) rebate application.
If you submitted a Colorado income tax rebate of 2021 or a PTC refund request by June 30, 2022, payments were made by September 30. Your price will be paid by January 31, 2023, if you requested an extension to claim your 2021 Colorado return & did so by the deadline of October 17, 2022.
Virginia Stimulus Check
To be eligible for Virginia’s stimulus tax credit of up to $250 ($500 for married couples filing joint returns), you had to file a 2021 Virginia income tax return by November 1, 2022, demonstrating a net tax liability.
The state is rolling out rebate payouts in the order it claims tax returns. Residents who met the requirements and submitted their 2021 Virginia tax returns before September 5, 2022, have already been compensated.
However, you might be eligible for a payout in December if you submitted your return between September 6 and November 1, reports Kiplinger.
