Microsoft sues Indian Company for technical support scam

Information Technology giant Microsoft has sued an Indian Company, C Cubed Solutions along with several other technical supporting companies for misusing Microsoft’s name and trademark in their operations.

As per the filed lawsuit, these companies have spammed more than 3.3 million customers by using Microsoft’s name and logos, which will, in turn, create an impression that they have an affiliation with it.

Microsoft lawsuit

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. The lawsuit claims that the accused companies have misused Microsoft’s name and logos to enhance their credentials and confuse customers about their affiliation with Microsoft.

The lawsuit also alleged that these technical support companies created security issues for customers by accessing their computers and by stealing their information.

C Cubed Solutions is based in the IT hub of India, Bengaluru. As per Microsoft, this Indian Company has provided fraudulent technical support businesses communicate with customers.

C Cubed Solutions in its website has listed it as a subsidiary of Customer Focus Services, a Nevada Limited Liability Corporation headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

As per the lawsuit, the companies have misled the customers by giving an impression that their services are somewhat or other related to Microsoft.

The technical giant also stated that these supporting companies are not licensed nor authorized. The lawsuit claimed that Microsoft is not providing any service for customers at all.

Other accused companies in the lawsuit include Marc Haberman, Rachel Eilat Haberman, and Anytime Techies LLC.
