Despite all the protests, Bollywood film “PK” emerged to be the biggest blockbuster of all times in India, taking over last year’s release “Dhoom: 3”, which also starred Aamir Khan.
The movie released on a regular Friday on December 13, and within just 14 days, it has minted Rs. 276.32 crore, taking over “Dhoom: 3”, which was holding the record.
Trade analyst Komal Nahata confirmed the reports. He wrote on Twitter, “#PK becomes the highest grossing Hindi film ever with a net all-India total of Rs. 276.32 crore in just 2 weeks. O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G!”
“The 276 crore of #PK is like a slap on faces of frustrated lot.Just like tax-free to PK in U.P. is on face of religious gurus who cried foul,” he further wrote.
“PK” is a clear example that good content sells like hot cake. The movie saw many turbulences, including protests from religious group that claimed that the movie has hurt the feelings of Hindus.

Despite all the vandalism in recent days, this Rajkumar Hirani directed film has managed to break all records. Based on the story of an alien, the movie also stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Anushka Sharma.
2014 has been a poor year for Bollywood with many of the films failing and sinking at the box office without trace. Movies like “Kick” and “Happy New Year” earned money, but those were made on lavish budgets, as well.
“PK” has ensured Aamir’s position at the box office yet again, and it remains to be seen on how the movie manages to set new records in days to come.
The next big release at the box office is Arjun Kapoor starrer “Tevar”.
