The costliest SUV, Sports Utility Vehicle, in the Indian automobile market has been manufactured by Toyota Kirloskar Motor. This new edition of the Fortuner SUV is expected to be the most unique model ever launched in India.
This brand new edition is expected to some with a four wheel drive complete with automatic transmission system. It is expected to be launched within a range of Rs. 24.17 to Rs. 26.47 lakhs.
Fortuner has its own set of admirers in India and it still is in substantial demand in the country. Apart from this edition of the four wheel drive, Toyota will also be launching another edition of this SUV with an all new engine.
The current Fortuner comes equipped with a 3 litre diesel engine with four cylinders. It has the capacity of producing 169 bhp at its peak. It also produces a torque of 360 Nm. Check out the complete specifications here.
An automatic transmission gear of five speed accompanies the engine. This combination is known to increase the efficiency of fuel while providing power to the vehicle.
The new edition will most likely carry the same engine with the same gear box. It is being offered with the four wheel drive and is expected to be a little on the expensive side as compared to other vehicles in the same category.
Apparently Toyota will be launching another edition of this SUV probably at the end of the year. The upcoming edition will probably carry a diesel engine of 2.5 litres which can produce a power of 142 bhp and a torque of 342 Nm.
