The ABC News reported on Sept 19, 2013, that the winning lottery ticket for the $400 million Powerball Jackpot was sold in South Carolina.

The Multi-State Lottery Association said in a statement on Thursday, that the ticket that won the jackpot was bought from the Murphy Express gas station which is located on Augusta Road in Lexington.

The winning lottery ticket numbers are 7, 10, 22, 32 and 35. The Powerball number is 19.

Two Match 5 winners lottery ticket were there each in Florida and Pennsylvania, that will each win a cool $2 million and 6 $1 million jackpot winners.

The Wednesday’s lottery drawing of $400M jackpot is said to be the 5th biggest in the history of the United States.

The all time largest jackpot was a $656 million ticket sold in March 2012.

84-year-old Gloria C. Mackenzie from Zephyrhills was the winner of the largest Powerball jackpot in the history of US.

The 2nd biggest jackpot of $587M was distributed to two ticketholders from Arizona and Missouri in November 2012.

The Powerball ticket prices were doubled from $1 to $2 in January 2012 due to the overwhelming popularity and the attention of the media.

Powerball jackpot lottery is operational in 43 states in the United States.
