Kartik Aaryan established a strong presence in Bollywood last year with his performance in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2”, one of the few super-hit films the industry produced.
Expectations for the actor’s comeback film, “Shehzada,” at the box office are very high. Let’s look at the movie’s budget & how much it has recovered so far as we come closer to the release. The movie, directed by Rohit Dhawan, is an official Hindi version of Allu Arjun & Pooja Hegde’s “Alla Vaikunthapurramuloo.” Kartik is joined by Kriti Sanon in this film.
‘Shehzaada’ public response
‘Shehzada’ Has An 85 Cr Budget
The film was initially supposed to come out on February 10, 2022, but that date was later changed to February 17, 2022. The most recent information is that this family-friendly show has more than made up for its initial investment.
Nishit Shaw, a trade expert, estimates that “Shehzada” has an Rs 85 crore budget, which includes 20 crores for publicity and advertising and 65 crores for production.
In terms of financial recovery, the movie has already made 65 crores, with music and television rights costing 10 crores each. Netflix reportedly paid 40 crores for the OTT rights. The cost of international rights is reportedly 5 crores. This indicates that 76% of the spending has already been made up.
Advance Booking Numbers Don’t Seem Promising
According to reports, the film’s producers need 40 cr to break even, and reaching that amount appears to be a piece of cake if word-of-mouth is favorable. The film’s postponement was revealed by the producers a few weeks ago.
The cause of this is allegedly the historic box office success of Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback movie “Pathaan” in India and abroad. The movie has made around 490 crores net so far in India.

Due to the continued success of “Pathaan,” the movie that was originally scheduled to open on 10th February was delayed to February 17. Even the movie starring Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s booking numbers don’t seem promising. As of Sunday night, only 2,300 tickets had been sold for “Shehzada” in national theatre chains PVR, Cinepolis, and Inox, according to sources.
“Pathaan” and the impending Antman and The Wasp installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe both appear to have had a significant negative impact on the movie’s booking trend reports Koimoi.
