The IRS failed to make payments to 4.1 million homes, prompting people who did not get their $3,600 CTC payments to consulting a tax expert. Couples had to earn less than $150,000 to be eligible for the full benefit, & single parents who claim as heads of families had to make less than $112,500. Due to this, qualified families received stimulus payments in advance for each of the final six months of 2021; the remaining funds had to be filed during the next tax season. In the interim, keep in mind that the 2021 CTC is worth $2,000 for 2022 if you have already claimed it.

Residents of San Antonio who were burdened by exorbitant electric bills will get a small amount of relief thanks to a rebate. Consumers will receive a refund of roughly $29 per home, or about 13% of the July electric bills. Those who are eligible for the rebate also have exceptional alternatives. Residents can decide whether to keep the refund for themselves or give it to low-income neighbors who need financial assistance with their payments. They could also hold onto the rebate and use it to subsidize more weatherization projects in Texas.
Texas Assists Locals In Paying Their Power Costs
Cash-strapped As they turn up their furnaces to fight the bitterly cold conditions, Texans are receiving assistance with their power bills. Homeowners and renters can get help from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) with their energy costs. As per a press statement, a program upgrade will also enable members to receive future payments of up to $2,400.
The TDHCA allocated an additional $48 million to this program to strengthen its efforts. According to the executive director of TDHCA, Bobby Wilkinson, “the past year was harsh for Texans, with rising food, housing, and transportation prices as well as higher energy expenditures owing to excessive heat over the summer,” reports Sun.
