‘Pathan’ Day 29 Total Worldwide Box-Office Collection: ‘Pathaan’ breaches Rs 1003 cr

Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, and Dimple Kapadia starrer “Pathaan” breached the Rs 1000 crore mark yesterday (February 21) and is still going strong in its fourth week of release globally. Day 29 box-office collections will be updated as soon as they are available.

The film also features Salman Khan in a small cameo role saving Pathaan in a breathtaking train sequence. He hints that even Shahrukh will play a role in his upcoming spy action-thriller “Tiger 3”.

In a mid-credits scene, Pathaan and Tiger are seen pondering about retiring and suggesting young agents who can replace them, but eventually decide to keep fighting the threats themselves.

‘Pathan’ public response

The film earned  Rs 1.10 crore on its fourth Tuesday, bringing its total collection to Rs 518.05 crore in India.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh in his latest social media post, revealed the films box office stats; he wrote, “Pathaan will breach ₹ 500 cr mark today [fourth Tue; Day 28]…⭐️ FIRST #Hindi film to achieve this target. Also, FASTEST to hit ₹ 500 cr [#Hindi, Nett BOC]. [Week 4] Fri 2.20 cr, Sat 3.25 cr, Sun 4.15 cr, Mon 1.20 cr. Total: Rs 498.95 cr. #Hindi. #India biz (sic).”

He also revealed the film had earned Rs 516.92 cr across all languages. “Pathaan #Tamil + #Telugu [Week 4] Fri 5 lacs, Sat 7 lacs, Sun 10 lacs, Mon 5 lacs. Total: Rs 17.97 cr. NOTE: #Pathaan #Hindi + #Tamil + #Telugu *combined* biz: Rs 516.92 cr. #India biz. Nett BOC (sic).”

The official Twitter handle of Yash Raj Films shared on Tuesday, “#Pathaan hits 1000 crores worldwide. Celebrate #Pathaan with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

This SRK spy-thriller is the fifth Indian film to have crossed the Rs 1000 cr mark worldwide after Dangal (Rs 1968.03 cr), “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” (Rs 1747 cr), “KGF: Chapter 2” (Rs 1188 cr) and “RRR” (Rs 1174 cr). “Pathaan” hit the mark without being released in China.

Controversies surrounding ‘Pathan’ Besharam Rang song

Just before the movie’s release, a section of the population in India objected to the saffron color bikini dress worn by Deepika Padukone in the film. On 17 January 2023, during the BJP national executive meeting in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told his party workers and leaders to refrain from making unnecessary remarks on films.
