This is the final chance for Sri Lanka to assess their resources before their first World Cup match against New Zealand which will be played on February 14, 2015 at Christchurch.
The first warm up match of Sri Lanka literally exposed all their weaknesses as the mighty South Africans tampered them in spanking passion. Sri Lanka who batted first in the first warm up put up a competitive score of 279/7.
Thilakaratne Dilshan led the team from the front by scoring a scintillating century. Angelo Mathews gave ample support to Dilshan, and he scored a quick fifty.
But the mighty South Africans replied to the Sri Lankan contest in style. They crossed the winning mark with the loss of five wickets, and thus they proclaimed their arrival and presence in front of other cricketing power houses.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe is one of the weakest sides in International cricket. The team is not the same eleven which played under the captaincy of Alistair Campbell or Heath Streak during the 1990s. They will lock horns with South Africa in their first match in WC on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
Sri Lanks will be trying their best to win this game, and it will surely provide them that extra morale which will prove valuable in the future course.
